Companion Journal

Greatness begins with the nearest thing.

Use the journal to slow the study down. The point is not to finish the chapters, but to notice what each lesson opens, resists, and asks you to practice.

Use this simple reflection rhythm.

  • Choose one lesson and listen without multitasking.
  • Write one sentence beginning, "I think Wattles is saying..."
  • Name one fear, hurry, resentment, or inherited limitation the chapter exposes.
  • State the higher ideal of yourself that replaces the old self-concept.
  • Do one small thing today with poise, dignity, kindness, and power.

FAQ

Answers to the most common questions.

This work is mystical, practical, and sometimes challenging. These answers help keep the method grounded.

Is this a course, a book page, or a spiritual practice?

It is a resource page for studying the source text. The workbook, journal, audio, flashcards, and app turn the reading into practice.

Is this just positive thinking?

No. Wattles requires thought and action. Thought clarifies the ideal you are holding and the viewpoint you are practicing. Action is how that ideal becomes visible in ordinary life, relationships, work, and service.

Do I need to read and listen to every chapter?

No, but doing both can deepen the study. Reading helps you mark the text. Listening lets the chapter enter differently. At minimum, choose one. When a chapter feels important or unclear, do both.

What if a passage does not make sense right away?

Do not force clarity. Mark the unclear passage, re-read the paragraph before and after it, then write what you think Wattles may be saying. Some ideas become clear only through repetition and practice.

Is this about ego, status, or being better than other people?

No. The Abundant Thought reading emphasizes awakened power, wisdom, poise, service, and full expression. Greatness is treated as a life lived from the highest inner principle, not as superiority, domination, or public performance.

Is this professional advice?

No. This is a spiritual, educational, and reflective study experience. It can change how you think, act, create, and serve, but it is not medical, legal, financial, psychological, or professional advice.

How quickly should I move through the lessons?

Slowly enough that the work changes how you act. One lesson per week is a strong rhythm. You can move faster, but do not confuse finishing the pages with practicing The Great Way.

Why organize twenty-two chapters into ten lessons?

The current structure uses ten lessons so each study unit stays focused enough to read, review, practice, and journal without overwhelming the reader.

Is this connected to The Science of Getting Rich?

Yes. Both resources are part of the Abundant Thought ecosystem and both are based on public-domain works by Wallace D. Wattles. This page uses the same resource-site pattern for brand consistency.
